Please find below the different wet markets in Singapore, many of which include hawker stalls. Many people still opt to come here in buying their daily produce rather than going to the supermarkets or hyper-marts. These food centres are crammed with fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood at fabulous wholesale prices. Some can get a little stinky or maybe smelly, but they have cheap, juicy products which is better than what the supermarkets are offering.

1. Chinatown Wet Market

It is located in Chinatown Complex, 335 Smith St, Singapore (050335) with opening hours from 8AM till midday. This is a great place to buy live shellfish, dried goods, imports fresh Malaysian vegetables and exotic meats such as live frogs and even turtle meat. You can also find various Chinese cooking ingredients as it was particularly favoured by elderly residents. As one of the biggest wet market in Singapore, it is one of the favourite places during the durian season.

2. Tekka Wet Market – Little India

It is located in Tekka Centre, 665 Buffalo Rd, Singapore (210665) with opening hours from 6:30 AM until 5PM. This has a traditional wet floors and strong smells due to the vegetables, poultry and Indian spices they sell. This is where you can find the best but cheapest Indian food in town. This is Singapore’s largest indoor wet market which underwent renovation and re-opened in 2009. You will find produce and dry goods from all our ethnic groups in this wet market in Little India.

3. Tiong Bahru Wet Market

It is located in 30 Seng Poh Road, Singapore (168898) with opening hours from early morning to 1PM. This is a well-ventilated two floors good-sized wet market. Fresh produce is in the ground floor while upstairs is crowded with hawker stalls. You can find a good variety of Western fresh produce such as Australian and New Zealand beef at half price that’s why it is popular with expats. There are cosy cafes, eateries and hot pot places in Tiong Bahru.

4. Whampoa Wet Market

It is located in 92 Whampoa Drive, Singapore 320092. Whampoa Wet market is known for its cleanliness and organisation.This is a place where you can find the best BBQ seafood and tasty chicken wings.

5. Kuriya Japanese Fresh Fish Market – Jurong Point

It is located in 1 Jurong West Central 2, Jurong Point Shopping Centre, Singapore 648886. This Japanese wet market is where you can find loads and heaps of sushi, sashimi and bento. They are packed with a lot of fresh juicy seafood like fish from Japan.

6. Geylang Serai Wet Market

It is located in 1 Geylang Serai, Singapore 402001 and they are open from 6:30AM till midday. This traditional Malay Kampong house have the lowest prices for Malay cuisine in Singapore. You can see the market in the first floor while the Malay hawkers are in the second floor. They also sell Middle Eastern spices aside from Malay spices and ingredients for their cooking. They do not have any pork meats in this place.

7. Telok Blangah Crescent Market

It is located in 1 Geylang Serai, Singapore 402001 and they are open from 6:30AM till midday. This traditional Malay Kampong house have the lowest prices for Malay cuisine in Singapore. You can see the market in the first floor while the Malay hawkers are in the second floor. They also sell Middle Eastern spices aside from Malay spices and ingredients for their cooking. They do not have any pork meats in this place.

8. Kebun Baru Market

It is located in 226D Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1, Singapore 564226, next to AMK shopping centre. Great meat can be found here especially chicken.

9. Ghim Moh Market

It is located in 20 Ghim Moh Rd, Singapore 270020, this wet market near Holland Village is a place to shop for a variety of fruits and vegetables. The sellers have been providing great service for over 30 years.

10. Admiralty Wet Market

It is located in 678 Woodlands Ave 6, Singapore 730678, which is where you can find a lot of variety of fish but the cheapest prices for sale.

11. Senoko Fishery Post

It is located in 31 Attap Valley Road #02-29, Singapore 759908 which is a popular place for local chefs to find exotic seafood and fish at very low prices with opening days on Tuesday to Sunday, from 2am – 6am. This wholesale fish market has attracted people who are looking for the freshest seafood hauled from local fish dealers, in-shore vessels, fish farms and some importers.

12. Empress Road Market

It is located in 7 Empress Rd, Singapore 260007which is where Expats usually go to find a few Western specials like cheap Jalapenos. It is beside the Farrer MRT with more or less 60 market stalls and 40 hawker spots.

13. Holland Drive Market

It is located in 44 Holland Drive, Singapore 270044 wherein one can experience a different kind of smell because of the quantity of live fish here.

14. Siang Heng Fish Merchant

It is located in 17 Kalidasa Ave, Singapore 789396 wherein one can find various wholesale seafood.

15. Bukit Merah View Market and Food Centre

It is located in 115 Bukit Merah View, Singapore 151115 which has a more senior-friendly features when renovated at the end of 2017, There are about 84 cooked food stalls and over 70 market shops with a 60 years old carrot cake stall.

16. Golden Mile Food Centre

It is located in 505 Beach Road, Singapore 199583 is an army marketplace where you can find army surplus gear and camping equipment. The Thai community usually go here to eat in the noodles’ stalls.

17. Marine Parade Market

It is located in Blk 84 Marine Parade Central, Singapore 440084 from early morning to mid-day. It is closed for renovations until Jan 2019 serving the East Coast with 143 market stands. This market is conveniently located opposite Parkway parade selling everything from fresh meat to different flowers.

18. Toa Payoh Central Market

It is located in 127 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, Singapore 310127 which was closed for renovations until Aug 2018. This is located near Toah Payoh MRT and after getting some of your Western supplies, you can buy fresh meat and produce.

19. Jurong Fishery Port

It is located in Fishery Port Road, Singapore 619742 which is most active past midnight, one must go before 3am to grab the best fish. For you to get an entry pass, bring your IC and take your own containers or plastic bags. The floors are very slippery so wear non-slip shoes when you buy cheap and fresh seafood.

20. Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre

It is located in 1 Wholesale Centre, Singapore 110001 where there were a variety of fruits, vegetables and dried goods. One can find wholesale of different fruits and vegetables.

21. Chong Boon Market & Food Centre

It is located 453A Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, Singapore 561453 which is 10 minutes-walk from AMK MRT. It has two floors with ground floor for fresh produce and hawker stalls on the second floor. Cheeses and Australian/ NZ beef selling at half price of supermarkets with a wide variety of fresh produce and meats at reasonable price.

22. Clementi Market and Food Centre

It is located in 448 Clementi Ave 3, Singapore 120448 which is famous for a cracking fish soup.

23. Beo Crescent Market

It is located in Blk 38A Beo Crescent, Singapore 169982 open from early morning to midday at some distance from Tiong Bahru. The Beo Crescent Market and Food Centre was opened on the very site of the Bukit Ho Swee fire in 1965, serving residents and office workers.

24. Tanjong Pagar Market

It is located in 7 Tanjong Pagar Plaza opens from early morning to midday. The stalls are still the same inside although it looks new on the outside.

25. Chong Pang Market Food Centre

It is located in 104 Yishun Ring Road, Singapore 760104 with opening hours from early morn to midday (fruit stalls outside market are open 24 hours)

Most people would probably say nasi lemak when you say Chong Pang there is a collection of fruit sellers, especially during durian season and selling pots of different flowers during Chinese New Year.

26. Geylang Bahru Market Food Centre

It is located in 69 Geylang Bahru, Singapore 330069 with opening hours from early morning till midday while others are open the whole day. This wet market and hawker centre is an old and rustic estate (though part of the neighbourhood has undergone upgrading). While the food options at the hawker centre and coffee shops cater to office crowds, the accompanying wet market serves the residents.
